Pastor “D” and Sis. Karen both have a long history with TRUTH FWBC. Bro. “D” walked the aisle of Titusville FFWB Church on October 23, 1973 at the age of thirteen and accepted Christ as his Savior under the ministry of Bro. James Stepps. Pastor “D’s” future wife Karen was saved on July 2, 1978 under the ministry of Bro. Emil Allen. Bro. “D” and Sis. Karen were united in marriage on December 22, 1978 by Rev. Emil Allen in the old sanctuary of our Church. After serving in the United States Army for five years Pastor “D” and Sis. Karen returned to Titusville with their two children Nicole and Kyle. Both of their children accepted Christ while attending our Church and both were married here.
Pastor “D” was ordained as a Deacon in Titusville in October 2001 and served in that capacity until the Lord led him and Sis. Karen to Melbourne in July of 2002 where he continued to serve as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Pastor “D” answered the call to preach in July of 2003 and was ordained on December 17, 2006 and assumed the pastorate at the First Free Will Baptist Church of Titusville on December 24, 2006.
Pastor “D” has served the Lord for over thirty years in various capacities. He began teaching Adult Sunday School while stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He has served as a Deacon here in Titusville as well as in the Melbourne Church. Pastor “D” has taught Sunday School classes for Senior Adults as well as Teens. He has spent several years serving as Youth camp teacher/counselor at Camp Sonshine and served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Camp Sonshine for several years. Pastor “D” served a total of ten years as the Chairman of the Indian River Association’s Christian Education Board, and as a member of the Executive Committee. In 2003 Bro. “D” had the honor of serving on the mission field in Cuba as part of a short term mission trip.
Since coming to TRUTH as our pastor Bro "D" has led us through several phases of remodeling which has brought us a foyer, an audio/video room, a new parking lot, a remodeled fellowship hall that added two new larger classrooms for our young people and most recently upgrades to our sanctuary that has brought a brighter more inviting look. In January of 2014 Pastor "D" led the Church through a name change from FFWBC of Titusville to TRUTH FWBC, with the thought that we would be presented to the community as "TRUTH."
Our Pastor has a long history with us here at TRUTH FWBC as well as the Indian River Association and believes that God has given him a rare opportunity to minister to his church family that he has known most of his life.
Pastor “D” believes in and promotes “Team Ministry” where we all are committed to ministering to the lost and hurting of this world. He believes that God equips each Church with people that possess the necessary talents to form a complete body necessary to minister to those around us. In order for the “Team Ministry” to be realized we each must be open and obedient to the Will of God.
Youth Pastor Bro. Tyler Jefferis
Bro. Tyler grew up in Muncie, IN. after being saved as a young boy, Bro. Tyler knew Gods will for him was to preach. After pursuing his own desires for a time, at the age of 16 he surrendered to Gods will and answered the call to preach. He moved to Wendell, NC in 2014 to attend Southeastern Freewill Baptist college to where he graduated with a pastoral degree in 2019.
Sis. Alex grew up in Greensboro, NC and moved to Selma, NC in 2011 as her father took a pastoral position in that area. Sis. Alex grew up with her family heavily involved in ministry and as a Christian young lady she always had the desire to continue serving the Lord in ministry. She went to Southeastern in 2017 and that is where her and Bro. Tyler met. They got married in 2019 and welcomed Everett Scott Jefferis into the world on 20 February 2021. They both have been able to have opportunities to see Gods hand at work and are excited to see that continue.
